Our client is a leading innovator in the field of Scientific Research & Development, and they are seeking a highly accomplished Principal Data Scientist to join their fully remote team. In this role, you will drive the development and implementation of advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning models to solve complex scientific challenges. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of our client's research initiatives, leveraging vast datasets to uncover insights and build predictive capabilities. Responsibilities will include

Designing, developing, and deploying sophisticated machine learning models for various research applications. Leading end-to-end data science projects, from data acquisition and preprocessing to model evaluation and deployment. Collaborating closely with researchers, domain experts, and software engineers to translate scientific questions into data science problems. Mentoring junior data scientists and contributing to the team's technical growth. Evaluating and implementing new algorithms, tools, and technologies to enhance our data science capabilities. Communicating complex technical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through clear visualizations and presentations. Championing best practices in data science, including version control, testing, and reproducibility. Staying at the forefront of AI/ML research and applying novel techniques to drive innovation in scientific R&D. Identifying opportunities to leverage AI/ML to accelerate discovery and improve research outcomes. Ensuring the ethical and responsible use of AI/ML in research. Required Skills and Experience:

Ph.D. or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field. 5+ years of progressive experience in data science and machine learning, with a strong focus on research applications. Demonstrated expertise in a wide range of ML techniques (e.g., deep learning, natural language processing, reinforcement learning, statistical modeling). Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with relevant libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn). Experience with big data technologies and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed team environment. Proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver impactful results. Experience with scientific data types and analysis is highly desirable.
