WhatJobs Direct

Our client is at the forefront of AI innovation and is seeking a world-class Principal AI Research Scientist specializing in Computer Vision to join their fully remote team. This is an unparalleled opportunity to shape the future of artificial intelligence from anywhere in the world.

As a Principal AI Research Scientist, you will lead cutting-edge research initiatives focused on developing novel algorithms and models for advanced computer vision tasks. Your work will involve exploring areas such as object detection, image segmentation, facial recognition, 3D reconstruction, and generative adversarial networks (GANs). You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and validating complex deep learning models using frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX. This role requires a deep understanding of state-of-the-art computer vision techniques and a passion for pushing the boundaries of what's possible. You will contribute to high-impact publications in top-tier AI conferences and journals, and collaborate with a globally distributed team of researchers and engineers. The position involves defining research roadmaps, mentoring junior scientists, and contributing to the intellectual property portfolio of the company. You will also play a key role in translating research breakthroughs into practical applications and product features. This is a remote-first position, emphasizing asynchronous communication and digital collaboration tools to foster a connected and productive environment.

We are looking for individuals with a Ph.D. or equivalent research experience in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a closely related field. A strong publication record in leading computer vision conferences (e.g., CVPR, ICCV, ECCV) is essential. Proven expertise in deep learning, particularly in convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and transformers for vision tasks, is required. Proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras) is mandatory. Experience with large-scale datasets and distributed training is highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills, creativity, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting are critical. Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and MLOps practices is a plus. A strong grasp of mathematical concepts underlying AI and machine learning is fundamental. If you are driven by intellectual curiosity and aspire to make a significant contribution to the field of AI from the comfort of your home office, we encourage you to apply. This role offers the flexibility and autonomy to conduct groundbreaking research while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
