A high‑growth AI team within a major national healthcare technology organisation is hiring Applied Research Scientists to help build the first AI-driven Revenue Operating System for hospitals and health systems across the US. The team combines startup-level agility with enterprise‑scale data, stability, and impact.

The Role

You’ll work as part of a tight applied research group that bridges research and engineering. Expect to design experiments, train models at scale, and contribute directly to production code. You’ll work on real healthcare data with focus areas including:

• Explainability & interpretability
• Reinforcement learning
• Retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG)
• Long‑context information retrieval

You’ll collaborate closely with MLOps and product teams to move ideas rapidly from concept → measurable user impact.

This is an in‑person NYC role, minimum 3 days/week in the SoHo office.

What We’re Looking For

• PhD in Computer Science, Informatics, or related field (postdocs welcome)
• 3+ years industry experience (after/including PhD)
• Experience designing and implementing novel ML architectures (PyTorch/TensorFlow/JAX)
• Applied research that has shipped to production
• Distributed training experience (Ray, FSDP, Lightning)
• Publication record at top ML venues (NeurIPS, ICML, EMNLP, MLHC, CHIL)
